Management Team

Our team includes antibody experts, coming from strong academic backgrounds who are constantly researching better ways to develop and produce antibodies.

Jos Raats PhD

President and CEO

Jos established ModiQuest Research and its sister company, ModiQuest B.V focusing on the development of novel therapeutics for autoimmune diseases in 2004. He has been involved in scientific research for more than 15 years, with over 45 publications from work at the University of Nijmegen, the Wellcome/CRC Institute in Cambridge (UK), and at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis (USA). Currently he also holds a guest appointment as Assistant Professor of Biomolecular Chemistry at the University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands). He has initiated and managed various combined projects of university research groups and commercial enterprises, including a new diagnostic target for rheumatoid arthritis (CCP), which has been developed into a highly sensitive early diagnostic test for RA (anti-CCP test).

Renato Chirivi MSc PhD

Head of Hybridoma Generation and In Vivo Validation

Currently, Renato supervises hybridoma generation and therapeutic antibody projects. He has been active in the fields of in cancer angiogenesis, neurobiology and hybridoma generation since 1989. His research work has focused on tumor biology and metastatic pathway analysis and more recently neuronal phosphatases, in order to understand their role in different neuronal diseases, using knock-out mice.

Guido Jenniskens MSc PhD

Head of Recombinant Antibody Discovery

Currently Guido supervises Phage Display and recombinant antibody projects. He has been active in the fields of Antibody-Phage Display, Antibody-Yeast Display and Antibody Engineering since 1997. His research work has included the investigation of the role of glycosaminoglycans by the use of phage display-derived antibodies. As an MIT postdoc, he deployed antibody yeast display to select and affinity-mature antibodies against clinical formulations of Heparin, to provide better quality control of Heparinoids and their derivates.

Jos van Rosmalen MSc PhD

Head of Antibody Production

Currently Jos manages cell line generation and antibody production projects at ModiQuest Research. He has been active in the fields of transcription, (neurodegenerative) diseases and cell signaling since 1996. His research work included the development of antibodies against prion proteins for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and selection of high-affinity RNA molecules against the Wnt signaling receptor Frizzled.
